We just learned that Mark Ruffalo was almost given Ryan Gosling‘s role in the hit 2010 movie Blue Valentine!
The detail was revealed in a small tidbit in his Variety cover story. The interview featured details about Mark‘s new HBO mini-series I Know This Much Is True, which is directed by Derek Cianfrance. Derek also directed Blue Valentine, which also starred Michelle Williams.
“Ruffalo had long been a fan of The Place Beyond the Pines director, who had tried and failed to cast him in Blue Valentine in a role eventually played by Ryan Gosling,” Variety stated.
