Alicia Silverstone is reflecting on her time filming the 1997 movie, Batman & Robin, revealing that it wasn’t her favorite experience.
“That definitely wasn’t my favorite film making experience,” the 43-year-old actress admitted in a new interview with The Guardian while promoting her new project, Bad Therapy.
Alicia recalled that she was heavily body shamed while filming the movie opposite George Clooney and Chris O’Donnell in the title roles.
“They would make fun of my body when I was younger,” she shared. “It was hurtful but I knew they were wrong. I wasn’t confused. I knew that it was not right to make fun of someone’s body shape, that doesn’t seem like the right thing to be doing to a human.”
The attention from the media and them dubbing her “Fatgirl” made her stop loving acting for a while.
However, Alicia explains it was something she was meant to do.
“My body was just like, this is what I’m meant to do, I love it so much, I need to find a way to do both, to be able to be an actress and be an activist at the same time so that’s what I did.”
If you missed it, Alicia recently revealed her absolute favorite line from Clueless.
