Bernie Sanders has officially endorsed Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee for president.
“I’m asking every Democrat, I’m asking every independent, I’m asking a lot of Republicans to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse,” Bernie shared during a live stream event today (April 13).
He continued while speaking with Joe on a split screen, “We need you in the White House, and I will do all that I can to make that happen.”
Joe said to Bernie that he’s “going to need you. Not just to win the campaign, but to govern.”
Bernie also shared that he and his staff have been working with Joe and his staff to address the pressing issues of the day, including the economy, education, climate, criminal justice, immigration reform and health care.
“I hope that these task forces will come together, utilizing the best minds and people in your campaign and in my campaign, to work out real solutions to these very, very important problems,” Bernie said.
Bernie dropped out of the presidential race just last week.
