The United States has surpassed Italy to become the country with the most coronavirus-related deaths int he world.
As of Saturday afternoon (April 11), there have been 19,833 deaths in the U.S., compared to the 19,468 deaths in Italy.
Thankfully, Dr. Anthony Fauci believes that social distancing has been helping and the number of projected deaths in the U.S. has been downgraded.
“The real data are telling us that it is highly likely that we’re having a definite positive effect by this mitigation things that we’re doing – this physical separation – so I believe we are gonna see a downturn in that,” Fauci said on April 9. “And it looks more like the 60,000 than the 100,000 to 200,000.”
