The singer is making her acting debut in the Lifetime movie The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel, though fans of Quincy Jones and David Foster are already familiar with her.
Sheléa, who plays Dorinda in the movie, has been performing on tour with the music legends for years and you can watch some of her incredible performances below.
The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel recounts the story of the highest selling female gospel group in history and of their trailblazing mother, Mattie Moss Clark (Aunjanue Ellis). Credited with bringing Gospel music to the mainstream, the five Clark sisters overcame humble beginnings in Detroit, enduring abuse, loss, rejection, betrayal, and sibling rivalries to achieve international fame as icons of the Gospel music industry.
“It’s a story of triumph,” Sheléa told the New York Daily News. “It’s a dream I never knew I wanted to come true. I’m excited, I’m grateful.”
“Most of us only knew them from their music,” she added. “They went through very challenging times that should have broken them. But their mother put a fire in them that made them persevere.”
