German actor Dieter Laser has passed away at 78.
The actor was best known to American audiences as the deranged doctor in the movie The Human Centipede, in which his character kidnapped three people and stitched them together to create a human centipede. He also appeared in the third movie in the franchise.
Tom Six, the director of The Human Centipede, took to Twitter to pay tribute to the iconic actor.
“I’m totally shocked Dieter passed away. He was a force of nature, an unique human being and an iconic actor. I’m so damn proud we created pop culture together. Wished we could have made many more movies. RIP my friend, you will live forever on screen!” he said.
No cause of death is known at this time.
We’re sending our thoughts and condolences to Dieter‘s loved ones during this difficult time.
